The creation of the To Sua Ocean Trench

This site is believed to represent an ancient lava tube system. The two holes are thought to have formed from the roof collapse of the lava tube, creating two skylights. Skylights can range in size from being very small to quite large, as To Sua Ocean Trench. To Su formed after thousands of years of inward collapse and continual erosion from tidal currents and waves. The cave linking the two holes and the underwater passage connecting To Sua Ocean Trench to the ocean are indicative of an original lava tube.
