The blog highlights the Best of the US through photos of my trip. I have visited the US many times now, my first trip being to Los Angeles and New York, followed by Miami and Seattle. I then road tripped the entire West Coast before spending 5 months studying abroad in Hawaii. The thing I love most about the US is the diversity of landscapes. You can literally go from pristine coastlines to snow capped mountains within hours. The US really does have everything.
Hawaii is a nature lovers paradise and my personal favourite US state. I spent 5 months in Hawaii on exchange, studying in Honolulu while living in Kailua. I spent every spare minute hiking and exploring new beaches. Hawaii has some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world and absolutely amazing scenery.

Oregon was full of hidden gems. I road tripped the entire coastline and my only regret is not spending longer in Oregon, it is beautiful. These photos were taken at Ecola State Park. See my favourite spots along the Oregon Coast in my guide to Road tripping Oregon’s Coast
New York City
New York, New York! Every child’s dream is to travel to and live in New York City. I travelled to New York city by myself at the age of 18, it was a great experience but the truth is I’m a nature girl. I am much happier when I am in the middle of nowhere amongst the wilderness than when I am in a big city like New York.
I have been to San Francisco several times, I love it. There is so much to do and so much culture. I love watching the seals play on Pier 39.
Beaches and parties, that is pretty much all you will do in Miami. And perhaps a road trip to Key West through the Florida Keys, a series of islands connected by bridges that lead to the Southern most point of the US.
Perhaps one of the most famous National Park in the world, and for good reason. The landscapes are remarkably unique. If you go during peak season, prepare to fight the crowds. Sometimes you feel like you are in a theme park as opposed to a national park.

The City of dreams and it certainly did feel like that when I travelled to Los Angeles for the first time at the age of 18. Looking back, I can’t believe how confident I was to board a plane to Los Angeles and New York by myself at the ripe age of 18. I loved Santa Monica, Holly Wood and Venice. Downtown Los Angeles was less than impressive, to be honest.
