Getting around Brisbane
You can get around Brisbane by ferry, bus, train, taxi, uber or foot.
If you plan to take public transport – ferry, bus or train, it is recommended to purchase a Go Card. A Go Card allows you to swipe on and off public transport with ease. The Go Card is a Translink initiative, that can be used on the city’s buses, trains, CityCats and ferry services. The Go Card also works on the Gold Coast.
Brisbane City also has a free bus service, the City Loop Bus. This service is available from Monday to Friday only between 7 am and 6pm and runs every 10 minutes. And don’t forget about the free Brisbane City Hooper, the boat service I mentioned above.
If these options don’t work for you, the local taxi or uber service will get you to where you need to go, and in some cases, you may be able to walk. Brisbane is a pedestrian-friendly city!
