Travel Inspiration

I truly believe that EVERYONE should travel in their 20’s, as far and as wide as possible (well, as you can possibly afford). Your 20’s are the time to go, read on to discover why 1. In your twenties, you have less responsibilities and commitments. Go before you get that boring desk job, children, pets, a partner or a mortgage.   2. Saving in your twenties is easier. Living at home while you save for your adventure around the world is totally acceptable in your twenties, not so much when you are 35.   3. The younger you are, the more time you have. Imagine if you went to Canada and fell in love, deciding to get a visa to live and work there, only to later discover you can’t get a visa after the age of 32 (at least not with ease). Going when you’re young allows you time to stay longer and if you choose, you can go from country to country on a working holiday visa, you have time.   4. You can do it cheaper in your twenties. Get a bed in a hostel for a fraction of the price of a hotel. Meet new friends and […]

EVERYONE should travel in their 20’s – this is why

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. –Chinese Proverb And so it goes for following your dreams. We all have dreams, dreams for our future, our career, our families, travel and so on. Some of us may have big dreams that feel just like that, a dream. I have a newfound inspiration that I want to share with you, the belief that any dream can become a reality, no matter how big. The first step to achieving your dream is to believe in yourself, visualise your dreams becoming a reality, make a plan, set short and long term goals and work HARD. Then work more and more and more. Nothing great ever comes easy, so achieving your dreams will be hard work, and that’s exactly why today is the day to start. My dream My dream has always been to travel the world. Now, my dream is to make a living whilst travelling the world, a life I only ever imagined as a dream until recently. I have spent a total of 2 and a half years travelling around the world. At the age of 18, I packed my bags […]

Today is the day to follow your dreams

Stop making excuses, book a ticket, and just go, Travel quotes.
There really is no better time to travel than now!  If you are scared to leave now, chances are you will still be scared in 6 months and a year. So if you have the ability to go now, JUST GO FOR IT! You should travel now as waiting wont make it easier. Trust me, I know how frightening travelling overseas by yourself can be. I applied for my first working visa on my 18th birthday, leaving 4 weeks later, solo. I was terrified, but I did it, and it was the best thing I have ever done. Don’t be afraid to travel alone Once you begin your adventure, you will meet people every day who are travelling by themselves, most likely doing a very similar path to you, and looking for company. You will never be alone when backpacking, especially if you are staying in hostels. If you are taking a working holiday, you will make friends with the people you work and live with instantly. I have met some of my best friends overseas. Travelling by yourself is in fact one of the best ways to get to know yourself. After high school people don’t have a true sense of […]

Why You Should Travel Now

I often get asked how I can afford to travel so much, and I hear the statement “I cant afford to travel” even more. The truth is, anyone can afford to travel, it is all about priorities. In 2014 I spent 6 month road tripping from Lake Louise to San Francisco along the west coast of the USA and through countless national parks. I backpacked through Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Mexico. I then flew back to Canada and spent two month camping around British Colombia before returning to Australia. In this 6 months, I spent $12,000. It’s ironic that people who spend $25,000 on a car can believe they can’t afford to travel. I could travel the world for 1 one year with that much money. If you want to travel and are willing to sacrifice other things, you will do it. For example… If you drink a cup of coffee everyday, that $5 a day, $35 a week and $1,820 in a year. I know… RIDICULOUS isn’t it. Say you get your nails done (not that I ever have). That’s what, $50 a fortnight, $1, 350 a year. How often do you go out a week […]
