Why You Should Travel Now

Stop making excuses, book a ticket, and just go, Travel quotes.

There really is no better time to travel than now!

If you are scared to leave now, chances are you will still be scared in 6 months and a year. So if you have the ability to go now, JUST GO FOR IT! You should travel now as waiting wont make it easier.

Trust me, I know how frightening travelling overseas by yourself can be. I applied for my first working visa on my 18th birthday, leaving 4 weeks later, solo. I was terrified, but I did it, and it was the best thing I have ever done.

Don’t be afraid to travel alone

Once you begin your adventure, you will meet people every day who are travelling by themselves, most likely doing a very similar path to you, and looking for company. You will never be alone when backpacking, especially if you are staying in hostels.

If you are taking a working holiday, you will make friends with the people you work and live with instantly. I have met some of my best friends overseas.

Travelling by yourself is in fact one of the best ways to get to know yourself. After high school people don’t have a true sense of self and I feel people benefit from being alone and getting to know what they actually like and want to do.

When you are alone you get to choose where you want to go, what you want to do, what time you want to wake up, where and when you want to eat, and who you want to hang out with. You can be anyone you want to be.

You have fewer responsibilities

As you get older, it is more likely that you will be tied with a lease or mortgage, furniture, boyfriend, animal or career.

When you finish high school, you wont have any of these responsibilities, well maybe a boyfriend, but nothing holding you down to your home town. If you can save during school, you will be able to travel as soon as you turn 18, without having to worry about when your lease runs out, or where to store the furniture.

So do it, go while your young and free!

VISA’s are easier to get when you are younger

Getting working VISAs is challenging once you turn 30, so don’t finish university, get a career and buy a house before travelling, because if you fall in love with travel, you might only have a few years of VISA’s left.
