Snowboarding Canada Lake louise A travellers footsteps travel blog
If you want to see more with less money, a working holiday is the way to go. My first two overseas trips were working holidays in Canada. During both of my working Holidays in Canada, I based myself in Lake Louise and travelled around the US, Mexico and South and Central America. I generally worked three months then travelled one, however you can do a working holiday in a number of ways. There are so many benefits of a working holiday, which I have highlighted below.   The Benefits of a Working Holiday As soon as you start working, you don’t need to spend your savings Both times I did a working holiday, I had a job organised before I arrived in the country. This meant I would fly in, spend a week exploring then head to my new town and start work. As soon as the money starts rolling in, you don’t need to spend your savings. You can live off your earnings and even save more money for travel. Fully immerse yourself into another country, culture and way of life Your experience in another country will be 100% different if you go on a three week holiday compared to […]

Stand Up Paddle Boarding Budds beach Gold Coast
Stand up paddle boarding quickly became one of my favorite activities. My first stand up paddle boarding experience was at Budds Beach in Surfers Paradise. Since then I have been Stand Up Paddle Boarding all around the Gold Coast including out in the ocean and at many other places around the world. This blog will share my story of stand up paddle boarding at Budds Beach in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Stand Up Paddle Boarding at Budds Beach It was a beautiful day at Budds beach, the sun was shining, mostly blue skies, no one around and no wind. Once I got the hang of standing up I had a very relaxing session. It was so peaceful to be out on the board with no one around. Budds beach offers amazing scenery with the Surfers city skyline to one side and multi million dollar homes and boats to the other. To be in the middle of the city but be able to enjoy paddle boarding is such an amazing experience. Gold Coasts Best Beaches
Having travelled far and wide, I am proud to say that the Gold Coast has some of the best beaches that I have visited in the world. Every beach on the Gold Coast is amazing, however there are a few in particular that I prefer to visit.  These are Gold Coasts best beaches, in my opinion. Gold Coasts Best Beaches   Burleigh Heads Burleigh Heads has quickly become one of the most popular places on the Gold Coast, and for good reason. Burleigh is the full package offering perfect beaches, surf breaks, nature walks and endless dining options. You could easily spend a full day (or more) in Burleigh. My day in Burleigh would start at The Fruit shop with a fresh juice and acai bowl (enjoyed on Burleigh Headland).  I would then do the Burleigh National Park walk, heading up to Tumgun Lookout then down to Tallebudgera Creek for a quick dip before looping back around the Burleigh Beach where I would enjoy some time on the beach in the sun. For lunch, options are endless. My favourite is Govindas, a vegetarian option. Enjoy some shopping in the afternoon before grabbing a six pack and heading to the headland […]

I highly highly recommend doing the Lanakai Pillbox trail on your trip to Oahu. The trail follows a ridge up to three pillboxes, I recommend going all the way. 52 Reasons Why You Should Travel Alone

I have learnt the benefits of packing light the hard way. When I went on my first overseas trip I had a suitcase weighing 30kgs. My last trip to Bali, I had a backpack weighting 5kgs. I ALWAYS opt to travel light when I backpack and these are the reasons you should too. 1. No need to worry about checking your bag in  Keep your bag with you, saving you time on luggage scans and money on unexpected overweight fees. 2. You don’t have to wait for your luggage at the baggage carousel I don’t know about you, but when I land I cant wait to get out of the airport and start exploring. Having my bag with me at all times means I can run off while everyone waits around the luggage carousel 3. You are in control of your belongings No need to worry about your bags getting lost or damaged as you are in control 4. You wont get a sore back and feet from lugging a heavy bag around When we backpack we spend so much time walking from our hostel to bus stop with our luggage. A light back pack will make it so much […]

Things to do in Dorrigo National Park
I am lucky enough to have grown up on the mid north coast of NSW, Australia, where we have access to countless beautiful spots to visit. Dorrigo National Park is just one of those beautiful destinations I get to explore in my spare time. Having spent a lot of time exploring Dorrigo, I have put together a brief list of the best things to do in Dorrigo National Park. Dorrigo National Park is a great day trip from Coffs Harbour.  You can relax at scenic picnic and barbecue spots, explore secret waterfalls, hike the rainforest and visit the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre for an amazing view. The Best of Dorrigo National Park Dorrigo Rainforest Centre Dorrigo Rainforest centre is the ultimate place to start your visit to Dorrigo National Park. The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre can provide great tips and advice on what to do and see, including which walking tracks will best suit your needs. I suggest doing the Crystal Shower Falls walk.   Crystal Shower Falls Walk through the […]
